SINK IT IN YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS!
At the final round of the FBR Open, while everyone was mesmerized by J.B. Holmes' colossal drives, I was quite taken
by something else.
I watched his intense, prolonged gaze at the target before each shot.
I'm convinced he was focusing himself into The Zone. And no one can deny he was in it. Twenty-one under par!
The momentum really got going on fifteen with that eagle putt and victory was his at eighteen with his final 354-yard drive ending up right in front of the green. What an amazing win for a rookie!
OK. It meant $936,000 to Holmes, but what can it mean to you?
Even if you haven't bought my CD, "Own The Zone," you can emulate his pre-shot routine. Hone in on the target. Burn it in your Subconscious Mind. Whether it's a tee shot or a putt, don't approach the ball until you clearly see the target in your mind's eye. Make sure your focus is on something small like a blade of grass. Your shot will be more accurate. And don't forget to breathe deeply.
You may not win $936,000 this weekend, but I know this idea will help you improve your game.
This is the first of my monthly newsletters for 2006 to help you play "in the zone" for longer and longer periods of time.

Your Subconscious Mind is always eavesdropping on your thoughts. You don't want it to be persuaded that you're a terrible golfer and shouldn't be playing this game, do you?

If you have my CD, make sure you listen to it a couple of times a week and - if possible - the night before you play. You and your Subconscious Mind will get used to "that feeling" of deep, focused relaxation, and throughout the round, you'll be able to "draw it into you" as your take a breath, focus on your target and think "Level B, Relax Now."
You'll find it easier and easier to execute each shot. Your mind will be clear. Your body relaxed. Your shots will become more fluid and accurate.
When you make a bad shot or two, you won't dwell on them but instead, you'll bring "that feeling" back into your body as you take a breath and think: "Peace, Harmony, Relax, Relax."
Whether it's a drive, an iron shot or a long putt --
Sink it in your Subconscious!
