HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Those of us lucky enough to live in Scottsdale are probably experiencing some of the world’s best weather for golf.
If you’re not here, don’t be jealous! You can still simulate your golf experience… mentally.
Science has proven that if you imagine what it’s like to do something, your Brain and Body will experience the same results as if you’re actually doing it. And when you’re imagining -- that’s the doorway to your Subconscious.
So take about 10 minutes to fire up your imagination as you visualize different types of shots and how you want to play them. If you choose to, you might even do this standing up – but make sure your eyes are closed.
This visual and sensory exercise is especially effective if you hold the appropriate club for the shot you’re thinking about. It will help you get an immediate sense of being on the golf course. Images will start to bubble up. If you have your driver in your hands, you might envision the fairway or even see the green and the flag out in the distance.
This technique will also help you crystallize in your Mind your problem areas and what you’re doing to correct them. Do your prep work now so that on the course, when the golf season starts and you step up to the ball, your focus will be completely on what’s in front of you – not what’s in your head.
For example, maybe you’d like to mentally play a particular par 4 and then a par 3. On the par 4, what are you working on? If you’re teeing off with your driver, as you hold it in your hands think about what you want to correct or improve. Get the feel of it. See it. Maybe you want to hear that “whoosh” sound as you accelerate through your shot. Or maybe you want to make sure you left heel stays down through the shot. Feel the rhythm and tempo of your swing as you tell your left heel: “Stay down.”
Use this same approach for the rest of your shots, but make sure you change clubs to help stimulate your senses. When it comes to your chip or pitch shots, focus in on what you’ve been working on. Get “the feel” of how you want your arms and club to work together. Then when it comes to putting, what needs to happen? By the way, if you take your practice swing while looking at your target, your Subconscious Mind and Body will know how to execute that shot. Visualize this.
If you make this pre-play visualization time a priority before each round of golf, these images and ideas will sink deep down within you - guaranteeing more effective results on the course.
Even if you’re already experiencing a white Christmas and the big thaw seems far away, practice these visualizations frequently. They’ll pay off big time this spring.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for supporting me and my program, “Own the Zone.” It’s been a wonderful ride, and judging from the testimonials I receive from all over the world, Self-Hypnosis has been of great benefit to you as well. May this Holiday season be a joyous one for you and your family, and may 2007 be your best golfing year ever!
LOOK FOR “OWN THE ZONE II” COMING OUT NEXT YEAR!
